Landscape for Scotland

28/11/2017

We were honoured to be at the Scottish Parliament for the launch of ‘Landscape for Scotland’ along with so many allied professionals and MSPs. ‘Landscape for Scotland’ is a vision for how Landscape Architecture can help address the challenges facing Scottish landscapes. Produced by Landscape Institute Scotland, it is intended to launch a conversation about the role of landscape in our national life. But it goes wider than appealing just to landscape professionals; it describes the benefits that good landscape design and management can bring to health, wellbeing, economy and environmental quality - areas in which so many policy-makers, planners, developers and communities can engage for positive landscape outcomes. We recommend you take a look at this important document, and hope that the Scottish Government recognises the possibilities and solutions offered by it.

The LIS is delighted to present our new document, titled Landscape for Scotland: Working together to help shape quality in landscape and place. This document hopes to bring landscape issues to the attention of policy makers and the public and to highlight the importance of landscape in all our day-to-day lives.

The document was recently presented at the Scottish Parliament and we are now pleased to share it with you and our wider membership. A digital copy of the document can be found here and we encourage you to share it with colleagues and friends across all professions.
