meet RaeburnFarquharBowen

03/01/2020

From 1st January 2020 Ian White Associates Landscape Architects became RaeburnFarquharBowen. Our new identity reflects our continued evolution as a practice, and our confidence in the future of our studio. It signifies a collaborative environment in which the skills, interests and experience of our enthusiastic staff is encouraged. We take this opportunity to reassure all clients and customers that it is business as usual and look forward to building on our relationships under our new studio identity.

In 2011, Sheena Raeburn, John Farquhar and Nick Bowen became exclusive owners of Ian White Associates Landscape Architects, as Ian White retired from the running of the practice. We are proud of what the studio has become in the past eight years, and feel that now, as we enter a new decade, is an appropriate time for our young practice to take on a new identity; one that looks to our future. Our continued evolution as a practice, embracing sustainable design with expertise in green infrastructure, community co-design and outdoor recreation, reflects national and international prioritisation of sustainability, biodiversity and climate resilience. Our interests lie in creating rich, diverse landscapes for people and wildlife to cohabit, and in developing exciting and relevant designs through open engagement and community co-design.

We strive to ensure the landscapes we create and manage are resilient, biodiverse and resource-efficient; we believe that our work should contribute to meeting UN Sustainable Development Goals, and in so doing deliver long-term value to our clients. We are landscape architects who enjoy our role in helping our clients achieve beautiful and multi-functional places that nourish people and nature.

We have taken a transparent and straightforward approach to branding, taking the names of the three owners. Studio CR have developed confident branding and an accompanying marque composed of 3 interlinked ring-shaped segments with a grounding band beneath. These linked circles express unity and equality born from the bringing together of the unique and distinctive qualities of each Director. It reflects our practice identity as a collaborative environment in which the skills, interests and experience of our enthusiastic staff is encouraged. This synthesis of art, science and the humanities creates delightful, diverse and enduring landscapes.
