The Snow Roads Scenic Route

LocationCairngorms National Park, Scotland

ClientCairngorms National Park Authority

StatusCompleted 2018

An unusual project that has required project management and delivery of the competition-winning visions created by independent designers. We have adopted a mentoring approach, guiding the winning designers to refine their schemes in the light of budget, practicalities and planning concerns. We have then taken the schemes forward through planning to implementation, co-ordinating specialist fabrication suppliers with landscape and groundworks contractors to deliver the schemes within remote and sensitive locations in the Cairngorms National Park. The 3 viewpoints are Connecting Contours on the Devils Elbow near Glenshee, The Watchers on the Lecht Road above Corgarff, and Still at Tomintoul.

This project is part of the Snow Roads Scenic Route initiative and won the People's Choice Award at the 2018 Scottish Quality in Planning Awards.
